
Are you being compensated fairly? This is a difficult question to answer. However, a new PPC salary survey may provide the answer, allowing you to determine whether it’s time to ask for a raise or start looking for a new job.
Duane Brown, the CEO, and Head of Strategy at Take Some Risk, just finished and published his annual salary report on PPC. The 111 slides were created using information from 715 responses. It’s also broken down by gross salary by country and region, which is helpful.
The survey contains a lot of information, but we’ll focus on just a few points: agency and in-house salaries for PPC specialists in the United States. Check out the full report if you want to delve even deeper into the details (PDF).
Some survey data was skewed by respondents who only had 1-3 years of experience in PPC but had been working for a decade or more, as Brown noted in the report.
Salaries for PPC managers at agencies. The median salary ranged from $47,500 for those with less than a year of experience to $139,000 for those with more than 15 years of experience. This was based on 171 responses from agency employees. The graph is as follows:

Salary Survey 2022: In-House Salary by Company Size in the United States
Salary levels by company size were also examined in the survey. If you want to make a six-figure salary, you should work for a company with more than 200 employees.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women will earn 82 percent of what men will earn in 2020. Is there a pay gap between men and women in search marketing? For the most part, the PPC survey data indicates a resounding yes, especially at certain levels of experience.
The greatest disparity exists between female PPC specialists with less than 15 years of experience and those with more than 15 years of experience. Males earn 20% less than females in both groups. However, as women advance in their careers, they are typically paid about 10% less than men with comparable experience. Males and females earned the same median salary after 1-2 years. Females with 10 to 15 years of experience earned slightly more than their male counterparts, but not significantly (4 percent)

Why should we be concerned? You must understand your worth and constantly value yourself and the work you do. Salary is influenced by a number of factors, including where you live, your experience, gender, and, frankly, how good you are at negotiating. Right now, the job market is booming. Marketing professionals are in high demand. It all comes down to whether you can deliver results for your company or your clients in the end. At the very least, you now have some data to refer to the next time you’re negotiating a new job or a raise.
