Data is now separated by video type in YouTube Analytics

In YouTube Studio's analytics reports, each video type will now have its own set of metrics.

YouTube is releasing an update to its analytics reports that will help content creators who create videos in a variety of formats.

You can now see the total number of video views for each type of content you’ve uploaded to your channel.

Data was previously compiled into a single metric that counted views for all content types.

These changes are being made to help you understand and compare the performance of various video formats on YouTube.

You can see which type of content is generating the most engagement for your channel by comparing views of regular videos, Shorts, and livestreams.

Here’s more information on the changes to YouTube Analytics, including why they’re being made and answers to common questions.

Data should be separated by content type in YouTube Analytics.

You’ll notice that the Reach and Engagement tabs that you’re used to seeing at the channel level are no longer available in YouTube Studio once this change takes effect. They will be replaced by a new tab called Content.

The Content tab will serve as a centralised location for tracking the performance of various content types.

This change only affects analytics at the channel level. There have been no modifications to video-level analytics.

What’s the Deal With YouTube’s Changes?

Separate analytics are in high demand, according to creator feedback. All video views are currently combined into a single metric, as previously stated.
For the first time, YouTube is adding separate analytics as well as the ability to compare metrics.

There is no data being removed; rather, it is being presented in a different way.

If data appears to be missing, it has most likely been relocated. Instead of having its own section, data on traffic sources will appear throughout YouTube Analytics.
