Google’s annual recap of the year’s top trending searches provides content publishers with dozens of ideas for capitalizing on long-tail keyword opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, data on the top trending searches is published, which is interesting in and of itself, but you may be wondering, “What can I do with this information?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, the data doesn’t appear to have much to offer other than satisfying general curiosity about what people search for in Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take, for example, the top ten trending searches in 2021<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As a search marketer or content publisher, you may not be able to do much with that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Those are all massive topics, with little chance of ranking for any of them at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    However, if you look deeper, you’ll find the long-tail keywords that people searched for the most this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You’ll discover the questions people were asking \u2014 the things that searchers genuinely needed assistance with \u2014 and therein lies the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
